If so, hold on. I said you missed the point entirely. Let me clarify. When I said, "If Shinku were real she'd look just like this only smaller and with dolljoints," I was referring to the doll Shinku, the one we see in the manga and anime, but translated into the real world. If you got a box and Shinku was in it, that girl is who she might look like, only smaller in size, and with the body of a jointed doll. I wasn't trying to push any preference on anyone, just making the above assumption.

Isn't Alice being a completely normal human just a fan theory anyway? Alice is supposed to be a perfectly pure and unspoiled girl, and I feel like normal humans are inherently flawed, especially due to their mortality.

For your interest, we just recently got the green from Aphex (who used to host this entire event, including drawing the winners) to change the rules to accomondate any new developments that are nessecary. So there is nothing preventing us from changing or removing the Generic Costume rule if needed.

On the other hand, the generic costume rule is there for a DAMN good reason. What we are trying to put forward are CHARACTER outfits, and if the outfit suggested is near completely identical to the outfit worn by the majority of the cast in the show, there is little to no way of actually identifying the outfit as what it is intended to be. It's beyond the point if the outfit itself has been drawn or not, it still goes against the main spirit of Hamuleen. Hamuleen is about drawing the Rozen Maiden characters in outfits iconic to characters from other franchises, not simply outfits that are iconic to the setting.

And is it just me, but are you simply going around the boards to question the rules that exist simply to get your favorite finalists back into the ballot?

A Shinku/Picard could work with the idea that in the pic the regular bridge crew would be in there as well, just to force home what its supposed to be.
