I just finished it. Would Air or Kanon be any good? Are they similar to Clannad at all?

Other than that, your opinion.

Clannad is the best, in my opinion. Air is a little too magic for my liking, and Kanon is better but I just didn't like any of the characters as much as Clannad. All worth watching though, absolutely.

>> No.9104   [Delete]   [Edit]

Still haven't seen Air yet, but Kanon is very, very similar to Clannad. It feels like it's the same characters in a different story with different names, but I do prefer Clannad.
Nevertheless, they're both really good.

Odd One Out seems to be full of memes. For one, it's about Spartan 1337, and for another, this.

While reading that weeaboo comic, i found this:

>See, this fellow MINAMIZAWA JUUCHACHI (his given name means "18") directed a bunch of ero anime in the early 2000s. The interesting thing about some of the ero anime he directed was that they looked very similar to the works of our beloved Shinbo Akiyuki.
>Furthermore, one of the studios that produced some of these works is said to be the alter ego of studio Shaft. So, basically, Shinbo probably directed porn. I've seen it. It's pretty trippy

Here's a list of his works:

Picture is how Nurse Me! starts. That is supposed to be the "Aobadai General Hospital Nursing Academy". Looks like... something else.

According to AniDB, they are the same person indeed (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=creator&creatorid=3014)

>After working on SoulTaker, Shinbou Akiyuki joined Seven Arcs, where he was director of some 18+ OVAs prior to his work on the Mahou Shoujo Nanoha opening for the Triangle Heart SoundStage, as well as the non-ero OVA Triangle Heart and the later Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha tv series.
>When working on the ero OVAs he took the name Minamizawa Juuhachi (Juuhachi means 18 in Japanese).
>> No.9037   [Delete]   [Edit]

I don't blame him, money doesn't smell.

Bakabt is a bitch though. That join-to-use crap is so '90s.

>> No.9041   [Delete]   [Edit]

Oh wow, I didn't know he directed Nurse Me.

Sup /a/. Opinions on this show...? Kind of skipped it because it was already on episode 8000, and is now over9000, but seems it has staying power...what's the appeal?

>> No.8973   [Delete]   [Edit]

I find it entertaining, and it provides a good balance between tearjerking drama, hot-blooded action, and weird-as-fuck japanese pop culture comedy. Most people here would probably find it not to their tastes though, considering it's both mainstream, and doesn't have that many flat-chested underaged girls in it.

>> No.8974   [Delete]   [Edit]

I think it's one of the best comedy anime I've seen, it never fails to give me a good laugh.

I'm liking it so far. I hope Mazui subs don't drop it due to the intensive talking.

>> No.8856   [Delete]   [Edit]

I was getting ready to watch this. Then I read your post... 50? that seems a little harsh for mostly talking.

>> No.8858   [Delete]   [Edit]

There is a lot of talking indeed, but I'd say it's interesting. I'm guessing it's not going to stay that way since this is only the first episode, and there was quite a lengthy introduction.

Bandai Entertainment has licensed Haruhi season 2. Your thoughts?

>> No.8807   [Delete]   [Edit]

what's so awesome about licensing endless 8+ a retell of season 1 without an ending?

>> No.8830   [Delete]   [Edit]

meh. Haruhi does not exist.

>> No.8855   [Delete]   [Edit]

I am such a retard, I actually watched all of the endless eight, waiting for something to happen. I AM DISAPPOINT.

It would be nice if there was a Non-endless eight season....like, an actual new season.

I'v had a question that's been on my mind for awhile now, and that is, why is almost all the manga that come out of japan black&white?
They are too broke to afford anything to color them with?

>> No.7293   [Delete]   [Edit]

I belive most of the RM manga is 25-35 pages long. Now i might be getting manga mixed up with doujinshi (i can't tell them apart). If manga is 150-250 pages long i can see why they would'nt color it, but i can't see why they would'nt color something only 25-35 pages.

>> No.7294   [Delete]   [Edit]

well, doujinshi are usualy made by one dude who makes up the story and also draws it. he has enough trouble just getting those 25 pages done and he might not even be that good at colouring.

if a major manga author (who actually has the backing of a team and a major company) were to churn out a smaller story of only 25 pages there's a decent chance it'd be coloured.

  1. Printing expenses. They've got quite a number of copies and b/w printing is quite cheaper.
  2. Technology. It traditionally was b/w, now all those drawing manga have their skills and tools set for b/w, like inking, screentones, etc. Even software like Deleter ComicWorks, MangaStudio is b/w oriented.
  3. Well, there is some color manga. Like http://www.mangafox.com/manga/robot/ for example. But it's not what could be serialized in monthly/weekly magazines. Also many color manhua iirc.
  4. Perception. Manga tends to be more symbolic than graphic, has many established conventions. That sometimes could be close to reading text, and is better perceived in b/w form. Especially, better than with shitty coloring like in older or cheap western comics.
