I'v had a question that's been on my mind for awhile now, and that is, why is almost all the manga that come out of japan black&white?
They are too broke to afford anything to color them with?

I belive most of the RM manga is 25-35 pages long. Now i might be getting manga mixed up with doujinshi (i can't tell them apart). If manga is 150-250 pages long i can see why they would'nt color it, but i can't see why they would'nt color something only 25-35 pages.

>> No.7294   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>7293
well, doujinshi are usualy made by one dude who makes up the story and also draws it. he has enough trouble just getting those 25 pages done and he might not even be that good at colouring.

if a major manga author (who actually has the backing of a team and a major company) were to churn out a smaller story of only 25 pages there's a decent chance it'd be coloured.

  1. Printing expenses. They've got quite a number of copies and b/w printing is quite cheaper.
  2. Technology. It traditionally was b/w, now all those drawing manga have their skills and tools set for b/w, like inking, screentones, etc. Even software like Deleter ComicWorks, MangaStudio is b/w oriented.
  3. Well, there is some color manga. Like http://www.mangafox.com/manga/robot/ for example. But it's not what could be serialized in monthly/weekly magazines. Also many color manhua iirc.
  4. Perception. Manga tends to be more symbolic than graphic, has many established conventions. That sometimes could be close to reading text, and is better perceived in b/w form. Especially, better than with shitty coloring like in older or cheap western comics.

Isn't there a dedicated board for this over on iichan.net? Not that an Azumanga thread is a bad thing.

Vocaloid Otaku, the Gaia Online of the Vocaloid scene...

Here we see them take canon arguments to the next level. Here she criticizes a guy's song not following the correct canon of story song sereis.

The problem?

It's his song and his series, I'm pretty sure he decides what is canon in his own storyline. Another thing, the original song never explicitly stated that Miku was a princess, just that she was the prince's love.

And you know, I really felt like taking back some of the things I said about them, but instead I'll take back one: I overblew their english vocaloid elitism, though it still seems to be weeaboo town.

Edit: I felt like being nice and covered up their name.

Evangelion-Geass!
I think the "other" geass project involving the mechanical arm will just be manga.
