345838 No.2903   [Delete]   [Edit

Here are the results for Souseiseki:

  • Rance (Sengoku Rance) - 6
  • Jeanne (Bayonetta) - 3
  • Miki Sayaka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) [disqualified]

Rance is the winner! Thank you for voting.

To those who have voted Sayaka, I would like to apologise from the bottom of my heart; I, along with Boku Man, really did not see that Pixiv image coming and it was hard enough for me to disqualify Sayaka.

Rule 3 in effect, Sayaka has to be disqualified. Sorry to those of you who voted for Sayaka.

Stay tuned as I discuss a potential replacement finalist with Wingless, and hopefully we'll extend the deadlines for Boku.

any news on that replacement?
I find it difficult to place a vote between Rance, Jeanne and "Unknown"

>> No.2938   [Delete]   [Edit]

+1 for Unown.

>> No.2939   [Delete]   [Edit]

Because of the lack of time until the due date, there'll be no replacements. Besides, blame me because I was the derp that deleted the nominations thread.

>> No.2940   [Delete]   [Edit]

Rance it is then.

>> No.2941   [Delete]   [Edit]

+1 for Jeanne, in that case.

Nominating Mayuri Shiina from Seins;Gate just for the hell of it.

saw it. Still nominating/voting for Shiina.

>> No.2950   [Delete]   [Edit]

Well that vote does not count, because it is not a valid vote. Please vote for Rance or Jeanne instead, and leave that nomination for next year, because no matter how many votes Shiina gets, she will not get drawn.

Sorry, but that's just how this works. You have to vote for one of the outfits that are currently in the finals, not add new ones this far after the nominations phase has ended. There's always a new chance to nominate her next year.

>> No.2952   [Delete]   [Edit]

Damn. Try to joke around a little and get shut down with seriousness. :(

I will nominate her next year as long as no one draws it by then.

Well, don't make joke votes then, because it's not funny and are just distracting.

>> No.2954   [Delete]   [Edit]

well... I guess I vote for Rance then.

>> No.2960   [Delete]   [Edit]

I mean... couldn't someone who's a huge dick just draw all the choices and pass them off as already having existed? Looking at some past Hamuleen entries, or Boku's portrayal here, it would not be hard, not hard at all, to sneak in half-assed renditions and call Rule 3. Then what?

Could there not be a rule that once the voting has started, and that as long as any subsequent finds of any doll already drawn as one of the possibilities is not a major work of art (as here, where it is borderline-chibi and not just Boku), that Rule 3 could be ignored?

>> No.2969   [Delete]   [Edit]

Allow me to intervene here. Rule 3 is enforced as to ensure that the resulting art is actually original content. That is one of the prime purposes of Hamuleen, to enforce origninal content.

As for intentional abuse of rule 3 by drawing a nominee you don't want to see winning half-arsedly just to disqualify it, that is foul play, and I doubt Wingless would disqualify an outfit simply because an asshole decides to abuse rule 3 to disqualify the cotume. It's the same reason why using proxies to make extra votes simply lead to the disqualification of said entry. It's foul play, and must not be tolerated.

>> No.2970   [Delete]   [Edit]

Yes, it is foul play, but to even a moderately-talented artist it would be simple to create a convincing rendition in the voting window. It could be pulled off without proving any proof that foul play was involved. Some artistically-inclined anonymous could whip something decent up in days and then bring it forth.

"Hey guys, we can't do finalist 3, look what I found."

Only a possibility. And perhaps we need to make an ongoing list of every known character that any of the maidens have been portrayed as. We don't have one, right?

And that CAPSLOCKRAEG still stands.

Regarding the loophole abuse, you may have a point, but as of now I need input on how to close the loophole.

>> No.2973   [Delete]   [Edit]

Enforce Rule 3. If someone were to draw one of the characters well enough to avoid being called out as foul play, it would look pretty damn good, or decent at the absolute worst. Although there's no way to really tell, it would be like getting 2 costumes in one Hamuleen, and we all know moar is better.

>> No.2980   [Delete]   [Edit]

I have an idea, but you wont like it and it takes a fuckload of work.

>> No.2986   [Delete]   [Edit]

highly doubt we even need to be worried about this imo

The loophole exists, but the chances of it happening are slim as all fucking hell unless someones trying to troll, in which case they probably suck

I say just leave it unless it actually happens

>> No.2987   [Delete]   [Edit]

Next year, it won't even be an issue, seeing how we will not disqualify repeated costumes during the finals phase anymore. Basically, if no visual proof has been presented before the nominations phase ends that the outfit has been drawn before on the maiden, any later proof will simply be disregarded for the purposes of disqualifying entries.

This is, of course, to avoid people losing interest in the event due to their favorite outfits being disqualified in the middle of the voting process (especially if said outfit is in the lead), and to make sure that the hosts actually screen each nominee before we move on to the votings phase.
