Rozen maidens base is very niche, but also very dedicated. It thankfully creates very cancer free environments. We escape 99% of the cancer of "fandoms"

once again the time has come to make post.
>>9620

>Rozen maiden brings an interesting group together, it is not like many other communities, especially those of wizards, as the series is about rising above neetdom, and moving from it.

one of the many things i am thankful of when it comes to finding this series in my teen years, it was a very confusing time for me and with the obsession and influence of internet trends polluting my mind it was nice to find something deeper in desu, played a big part in growing out of some past interests that may have not done me soo well in the future, there are no other series i could think of that influenced me in such a way, and kept me from trying to "fit in" with the more popular crowds and kept me where i could be myself, that being the internet and a manga addiction. Now its something i hold on to as an adult and enjoy the fact that i got to experience it, even as much as smile when i see left oriented greens and right reds in everyday items, may sound a bit obsessive even for here but i enjoy the ride that i got on, and glad I still get to share some of that today.

>going to second this, this place is my home, silent and empty or not, im from here, not elsewhere. This is where I began, and where I return to.

i have mentioned before, this site is of great value to me, and its longevity is even greater, it never fails to feel among good company here and that is something that needs to be cherished and held onto.

>anon are you me?

adult life can be exhausting, but it needs to be done. hang in there.
>>9624

>On one hand, I'm happy RM is so niche that it isn't full of cancer memes. On the other, I'm sad that there's so few people, even on the internet, who share my likeness for it.

RM is a major niche, its not something just anyone can just grasp onto, in my view being a desufag is first and foremost a fan of Rozen maiden, even in macros and fanart everything holds a significance to the story, character canon and mutual recognition of most backing behind RM jokes. With a much deeper understanding and love developed in the future, sure most remember desuspam, balljoints and boatlights, but that is very minimal understanding on how a simple meme turned to an influence, from the internet to irl for many people. I still to this day intermingle with younger communities within imageboards and tend to also put a little ~desu into what I do, on other spectrums of the internet rozen maiden is almost like a positive influence for board communities spreading a more mature and fruitful environment, may sound obsessive perhaps carrying it more like an ideology, however it does wonders to users i have introduced it to and using suiseiseki as a symbol of Greens Growth and Reds Love. does wonders to helping growing communities, whether they discover rozen maiden or not.

>God forbid you're a dude and someone IRL finds out you love Rozen Maiden; they're likely to just assume the worst.

the few i have contact with irl tend to know of my hobbies i keep behind closed doors, I am a male rozen maiden fan, to the point of having volumes and a couple figures shelved. I feel no real shame, then again i would not allow anyone outside of that understanding to see such things.
>>9625

>Rozen maidens base is very niche, but also very dedicated. It thankfully creates very cancer free environments. We escape 99% of the cancer of "fandoms"

most will never understand what type of accomplishment it is to have that, most these days are accustomed to dwelling in the cancer spewed out of boards today, and is a shame. One reason i am skittish about bringing desu to newer communities, i would not want something pure to be corrupt by the trends of today, it would be a saddening time.

I feel the same way, though I can list three other series that have affected me at this level, but I would never have found them had Rozen Maiden not got me back into anime anyways.

>even as much as smile when i see left oriented greens and right reds in everyday items, may sound a bit obsessive even for here but i enjoy the ride that i got on, and glad I still get to share some of that today.

Haha not in the slightest. I still arrange candies by red and greens separated from everything else. I get that same feeling when I see red and green together.

>i have mentioned before, this site is of great value to me, and its longevity is even greater, it never fails to feel among good company here and that is something that needs to be cherished and held onto.

I still suspect this place will silently outlive 4chan

>adult life can be exhausting, but it needs to be done. hang in there.

Indeed, but its worth it. RM probably kept me away from a NEET life, and pushed me to improve myself and seek success, rather than sitting idle.

>may sound obsessive perhaps carrying it more like an ideology

I literally believe Suiseiseki is an egregore anon. I actually do believe in desu as an ideology.

>One reason i am skittish about bringing desu to newer communities, i would not want something pure to be corrupt by the trends of today, it would be a saddening time.

Absolutely, I really hesitate to share it too wide, I mostly let it share itself naturally.

>most of what i see is either within the neighboring cities that are mostly divided dry woods and empty highways.

This sounds pretty comfy, honestly. Empty roads can be nice because there’s more space between the houses for you to actually see something. My part of the town is right were the old Saxon fortifications used to be, so it’s up on a hill, and there’s just 2 or 3 spots along the road that you can actually see the surrounding area over the rooftops to the other hills. Especially nice if it’s a clear evening and you can see the lights from nearby villages.

>one place i lived had a lovely nature trail i had to take for most of my on foot commutes during my school days

Nice. Did it have lots of squirrels in it? I see squirrels all the time where I live, not even just in the more foresty areas either, they’ll happily frolic in trees right next to the road too.

> you really do not see much of the seasons where i am now

That’s a great shame, and sounds quite depressing. Much as I wouldn’t mind it being winter for the rest of my life, I also like to see reminders of the passage of time to remind me that time is moving even if it seems like I’m not.

>oh no i am plenty young and still have quite a few years on me before i would even consider that

I didn’t mean it literally, I guessed you weren’t in your fifties thinking about leaving your job soon. It just sounded a little like what somebody in that position might say, even so I don’t blame you for being fed up with the tedious grind.

>this is my comfort zone, along with other places.

Exactly this. This is the comfiest among comfort zones though.

>I still have my obsession with imageboards and mingle around new communities

I find a lot of dead imageboards, and it makes me unreasonably depressed when I do. I’m not sure I can really explain the feeling very well, it’s not sadness or anything like that, it just gives off a sort of nasty empty feeling.

>i feel I will always have this safe little bubble of users that more less have laughed at the same jokes or shared the same images, regardless of how times change elsewhere on the internet.

I don’t really have anything to add here, just that I liked this statement.

this thread was made in place of the /bant/ desu threads, they are more targeted towards international discussion and over all appreciation of rm, just posted on desu. also /desu/ is open to postings of other maidens as well, just more congregated in one, than multiple threads. as for here if mods don't mind, i am sure it would not be a problem ~desu

Bittersweet perhaps?
The feeling that you are somewhere that once was lively, many came to every day and called their home on the net, now abandoned and empty?

>Bittersweet perhaps?

Maybe.

>The feeling that you are somewhere that once was lively, many came to every day and called their home on the net, now abandoned and empty?

Well, sometimes I question if they were very lively, but I guess. This is one I looked at recently: http://bunbunmaru.com/wakaba/. It's a bit like looking at abandoned settlements after an apocalypse. I feel like so much discussion that before would have been done on various different sites got eaten up into one massive block of general-purpose discussion tools: reddit, facebook and twitter. It feels like this stupid centralisation has left a wasteland behind where people used to go before these things.

>All I did was mope and fight my mind to not break down %%coming off anxiety meds because your insurance fucked up is a pain in the ass%%

That sounds pretty awful. I've got a mental disorder, but I don't feel particularly affected by it, so I feel sorry for you. I hope you feel better at some point. I went travelling again recently, just for a few days to see somebody I haven't seen for a year or so. I stayed in a rented cottage for the night after meeting up, and a day I spent there before going back. I spent a long time just lying in bed looking out of the skylight. Watching the clouds move past in the clear blue sky made me feel like the room was floating in the sky, which was a nice feel. It made me feel really happy, so I thought you might like to hear about it.
Ok so I had to walk to the town centre to get wifi access. I'm getting an open proxy error on my home wifi, so I might not be able to post as frequently in future.

Realistically, an imageboard is like any IRL hangout - how many bars/clubs stay popular for 10+ years? The only real difference is that a bar that doesn't get enough traffic closes, while Desuchan, like the dolls, will live on forever in N-space.
