Collected from before the wipe, here's your replacement moonspeak resources thread.

This website is fairly resourceful I think.

And this site works very well in terms of learning kanji.

They have good crash courses for learning Kana and some kanji. Also a good recourse for stock phrases and grammar.

For NO$GBA? Well go to Emulation Control after you open a ROM. After than go to NDS Backup data and choose EEPROM 64KBytes. It works for most games but some other ROMs save in EEPROM 8KBytes so if you are playing something other than My Japanese Coach and need to save just change it.

By the way, is there any kind of korean hanja dictionary, based on strokes like denshi jisho or am I completely lost about korean language?

>> No.136   [Delete]   [Edit]

I'm enjoying it a lot, thanks :) this should finally consolidate my kana skills and maybe even really teach me some kanji.

just hoping it's not going to be too short :D (fingers crossed for an intermediate sequel)

edit:
akshually, there seem to be a number of errors in it regarding stroke order and such. just saw that on wikipedia:

Lesson Page number Character
6 6/19 ki (does not teach lower line separation)
8 2/15 sa (does not teach lower line separation)
10 2/13 na
10 10/13 pu
13 2/11 mo
17 4/16 ya, yo

’Sup /moonspeak/

I’m looking for a language buddy to discuss moonspeak with and share a healthy rivalry to increase our efficacy.

Being of similar skill levels is ideal. I have a decent grasp on basic grammar, can write over 500 runes, and can read all the kana upside-down (as well as right-side-up). I dedicate all my free time to the moon and drawing, which turns out to about 4 hours of moonspeak a day.

Said buddy must not be learning Japanese solely for entertainment (animu, mongo, dalicious musak, etc.) Weeaboos are ugly and use jap instead of JP--and no one wants an ugly racist language buddy.

Contact me at anokorok@gmail.com if interested. I have AIM/MSN/YIM. Gaijins who watch animu with subtitles or read translated manga need not apply.

Am I like the only one on the Internet that actually studies moon just for the shits and giggles?

>> No.731   [Delete]   [Edit]

This interests me, if only because of the use of eye-straining full-width romaji and suspected trolling.

What significance is there to reading kana upside down unless one plans to specialize in upskirt video in Japan (admittedly a lucrative market)?

And if you aren't interested in Japan for cultural reasons, why are you learning it?

Hi /moonspeak/

Desuscans is working to translate trap doujins and manga, however, our translator is unable to decipher this page. Which is probably a gay joke about chrysanthemums.

Additionally, if you feel like helping out with future projects, feel free to drop in at #desuscans on irc://irc.highway.net/

Desuscans. Doing it for the desu.

Huh? My reply? Awawah wait a minute! Umm, Ummm.... If am asked for my response so suddenly...Umm...Well...First of all, do you blame me...!? (am not sure of this last word; hate etc. would be so much easier if it showed the kanji). Enjoy fapping to scared girl who almost attacked you with lamp lmao.

Can anybody explain 凄いっすね to me? I'm guessing it's just an extended version of 'sugoi' but perhaps there is a different colloquial meaning.

This is now a Japanese idiom thread. Translation for this phrase?

しょうがねーな

Since it's all kana, not sure what to make of the 'jou'.

>> No.704   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>703
"it can't be helped"
in non-slang form it would be しょうがいないな
or, there is no "shou",huh?. I don't know what exactly this shou is so I can't find a kanji for you for it, but I would imagine it meaning something like "alternative" or something.
what you wrote doesn't contain a "jou" though

>> No.705   [Delete]   [Edit]

しょうがねーな <- しょうがない <- 仕様が無い
直訳すると I have no way. だけど、
相手の主張にしぶしぶ同意する意味で
Ok,you are right. ぐらいでいいのでは

>> No.706   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>704

'Shou' thanks. I have a mental block when I see that, I think because 'shi' is like backwards romaji 'J', and it actually is 'ji' with the voicing mark.

>>705
仕様が無い直訳すると
"I have no way to directly translate"?

だけど、相手の主張にしぶしぶ同意する意味で
"But I can sort of agree with your interpretation"?

ぐらいでいいのでは
"Well, it's close enough"?
