Yes. That only either Shannon or Kanon can achieve happiness and never both is a big hint.

Kinzo died twice. He can do that.

No, Kinzo died once, and two (3) characters in this series are the same body. While not yet officially cannon I believe that Shannon, Kanon, and Beatrice are the same person. With this all of game 6's mysteries can be easily solved, including the duel.

Just by the the existence of the "duel of love" and Battler's closed room this level of reasoning is possible for Twili... What do you think everyone?

>> No.5949   [Delete]   [Edit]

it's actually pretty obvious by now

well...kanon is the cake, so he's obviously a lie.

How does this make you feel?

if I hadn't read the VN's yet and could read japanese and owned a ps3 I would be happy with this.

I think I've made my point.

So uh, you think we'll see this translated or is now a good time to start taking an intensive japanese language course?

>> No.5972   [Delete]   [Edit]

how often does anyone translate a console game anymore? it's way too much of a hassle.
in addition, the games are already translated! who in their right mind is gonna do that again just for some purtier pictures.

I suggest taking the courses.

EVERYONE is fat in R07's art.

Also, the crazy faces are fucking awesome in Alchemist's Umineko from what we can see. Ever see the Higurashi Matsuri CGI? They looked pretty insane there, too.

So, well... I know this post will be kind of provocative, but still, don't see it as just trolling.

When I first discovered Higurashi, I was blown away and sucked into that anime. Amazing stuff, suspenseful, and all the time I was "wtf is going on?", the question mesmerized and fascinated me, it kept me coming back. I never really got into the game, because it wasn't available to me for too long, and when I found it by chance, I actually wasn't that hyped any more.

So, Umineko then came out. And I couldn't stand to watch more than the first... I dunno any more 3, 4? Episodes.

Why am I writing this? Because it has been about a year now, and I might give it another chance.

Why did I dislike it, so much so that I couldn't bear to watch it all the way through? There was no mystery to me. Pretty early on it's "Oh, there's witches, and witchcraft explains it all."

From then on I never got interested in it. I never went "Why is this happening, wtf is going on?", because in the back of my head, I always thought: "Ah, it's magic... ok... why should I care about the freaky stuff that is happening then when I already know it's magic and witchcraft and stuff?"

there are 2 generic ways you can enjoy umineko
1) accept that witches exist and just watch it for the mayhem that the witches cause and the various gag-references to other media.
2) deny witches exist and insist there are ways in which a human could have caused everything that's happened on rokkenjima. this starts out as a losing battle but as the episodes progress you are handed more and more tools to be able to do this.
there is no "right" way to go about it, it's your own preference.

personally I just enjoy it for what it is and rarely think too much about what's really going on, though I have my theories. I think it's the music that really sets the mood which allows the story to be enjoyed better, even though it usually strikes me as a jumbles mess :) I'm strictly speaking about the VN and not the anime here. I don't remember what they did with the music in the anime really.

since the anime only covers the first 4 VN episodes you are basically shafted if you try the mystery approach as you don't get the same amount of info as you get from the VN (though the difference isn't that huge). the mystery side is also very very very fucking hard in general and you kinda need eps 5 and 6 from the VN to start really making sense of things (but not much)

all in all, umineko is quite different than higurashi in that it starts out with a fairly quiet normal town with normal people but some crimes happen that could have easily been caused by humans, but as the story goes on more and more weird mysterious things happen and in the end the true explanation was that SPOILERS erika was some sort of hive queen of sorts and killing her made the town go berserk due to wtfvirus and conspiracies everywhere...

>>5970 if you remember the 4th anime ep., those who simply accept the witches existence 'lose'. Plus Ryukishi07 just love to nudge hints at their readers (for the VN) so you must watch it in Battler's POV

>> No.5983   [Delete]   [Edit]

your comment is very accurate and im glad that you bothered to see umineko in all its glory!

and how it is right now!

I just read the riddle about the 3 cups and 5 coins (see pic) ,after getting the one about the cheese right I was disappointed when they didn't give an answer to this one, I wanted to see if anyone else got the same answer I did. (If they give it away latter on don't give it away yet.)

you put one coin in each cup, then stack the cups

1 posts omitted. Click Reply to view.
>> No.5682   [Delete]   [Edit]

I didn't even think about making it one cut until Battler mentioned it, I had to pause the game so I could figure it on my own. Actually the first way I thought of cutting the cheese was you stack all the pieces and then cut down (can't do that with cake).

>> No.5683   [Delete]   [Edit]

The cups one was too obvious, though. If there aren't enough coins then you really don't have a choice but to stack the cups. The cheese one seemed like a bit of a copout, I'd like to see someone fold a slice of cheese six times.

>> No.5684   [Delete]   [Edit]

Thats sort of the nature of the riddles in Umineko, they arent supposed to be "possible" just within the given rules.

>> No.5688   [Delete]   [Edit]

No the cheese one is possible, just take that string cheese and wind it like a snake on the table, then with a long enough knife you can cut eight pieces.

Just with the existence of cheese this level of reasoning is possible for Twili.

P.S. Kun-Kun also makes a good point.

It's more of a resemblance in the manga then the anime.

Plus, the bond girl has butterfly references in almost every scene, and she's even considered a witch.
