Does anyone know where to get them?

>> No.4641   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>4640

Well, I personally hired an artist to draw me one, and gave him huge ass pictures of the portrait for reference, but when he was done, it sucked.

So I had to use another method. And I was pretty satisfied with the result. Now I have a ~1,2-1,3m x 1m portrait of Beato that looks.. lovely.
I'll post a picture as long as I get the chance to buy a frame for it..

>> No.4642   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>4640

You could try Rasterbating it.

http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiled_printing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gULVGHMgHrY

I'd do this if I had the space to put them somewhere. There's an RM one at 1:48 in the video.

>> No.4643   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>4642

Personal opinion - this method sucks. The portrait wouldn't look the least bit authentic.

>>4643

Well I imagine if you lined up the pictures well enough, framed it and encased it in glass, it would be perfect. But that's a little ridiculous IMO. Does anyone have any other ideas?

>> No.4645   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>4644

What I did was, went to a printing house, gave them two 1920 x 1080 images of the portrait from two different angles, told them what size I want it to be,etc.
So what they did was print out the image on something between the type of fabric you'd normally paint a painting on and some kind of paper or something.
It looks amazing, and you have to be like 10 centimeters away from it to notice it's not a real, painted portrait.
I'll post an image or two when I buy the frame and the glass.
I can't really explain it all that well, plus I don't remember the exact word for this type of material.

Believe me, I can't wait, too.
I really want to see how it will look on my wall ;_;
Probably will be ready around Monday.I'll take a picture of it as soon as I hang it.
I also ordered an engraving of the epitaph on wood, but it will take a lot more time, I'm afraid. Of course, I'll post a picture of that, too.

Hey guys.
Now, first, I must apologize for the shitty camera quality.
Second, the portrait itself won't be on this wall, this is just to get an idea how it looks.
I think it came out beautiful ;_;
Yes, I do realize the portrait is shorter in length than it should be, as in, you can't see some of her dress, but it came out kinda dark, and I figured it wouldn't look as good, so.
Also, the frame is a temporary one too, since they didn't have the one I wanted, but I couldn't fucking wait more.
Anyway, I'll post more pictures, if anyone wants me to later, when I get it in its place.

75x100 on canvas (biggest they offer) is 72 euros (98 dollars) excluding postage, which is around 4 euros iirc. it's strung over a wooden frame and UV-proof.
sucks if you're not dutch though :3

they say all responsibility concerning ownership rights of the picture is for the customer and they're marketing as a service for private pictures, but my status for the beato pic is now set to "printed" so I don't expect them to be asses about that.

Wow.
My portrait cost like, 40 dollars, 130 cm in length, 100 in width.
I had to get the frame separately though, and it was around sixty.
So the total price is pretty close with the one this site offers.

Sorry about necro-bumping this thread but I was wondering if your picture turned out slightly grey at all?
I'll be having my own printed shortly and i'm worried the disturbance on the image might ruin the contrast somewhat.

Also as a side note anyone think the attached image would make a good painting?

>> No.4985   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>4978
It's royal, it's austere and enigmatic. The dark lighting indicates the dark atmosphere of the room
and blends together with a hint of depression.

The top right contains a little too much void space, maybe there should have been a painting there or something.Maybe even a mindfuck recursive painting.
Other than that, it seems like a nice painting.

TL;DR: Yes, you should.

Might aswell post a picture with this, another potential painting.

I was wondering how much you guys consider a ligimate expenditure for a joke; obviously i'm getting my Beatrice painting but i've also planned a series detective podcasts with some of the locals around here to 'solve Umineko'.

Basically my plans of elaborate ruses are thus:

  1. Make canvas print of the painting of Beatrice, hang this overhead during the podcasts. (About £80?+)
  2. Find a blacksmith and get a stake of purgatory made. Present this during the podcasts as 'evidence'. (£??)
  3. Purchase cosplay outfit of Beatrice, recruit assistance of a friend of mine the podcasting team havn't met before. Then have her ambush my guests mid podcast. (About £150+)
>> No.5064   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>5050
idea is fun, I guess. the costs are very much not so.
blacksmiths that can make custom metal things like that are extremely rare, and not cheap. you might get lucky finding some bronze sculpting artist who's starting out or something.

you should try French history and French authors, the 19th century in both cases. Most of the references I've found point in that direction...

Took a while, i'll save all the diffrent photo's I took of it for what'll be it's resting place for some time now.
Found that the colours weren't quite light enough... So I got backlighting for the painting installed [Hence Delays]. That is to say; It's also an epic reading light.

To put into perspective, thats a double bed it's hanging over. Which it is roughly the size of when laid horizontally. It actually came bigger than I ordered it too (Lol). I still need something for over my desk however - ANy Suggestions?

>> No.5356   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>5355
There is no other blank wall you could put it on?
It just looks off with the bottom portion being covered by the bed. And I see what you mean, it is xbox huge.

>> No.5357   [Delete]   [Edit]

Thats what I mean it came too large, it was just short of being the size of the wall above it when it was to the scale I ordered it; It came larger than that as you can see.

Also the colours are sadly pale, I'm thinking of recruiting a buddy of mine to do some colour correction for the .jpg [To be honest he's done it once allready just on a version with the title]. The backlighting really helps the colours show though, it's just it blinds my camera for some reason. As a side note I ordered from 'Outlook Images.co.uk' so if your paranoid don't order from them, personally i'm dubious they might have used watered down inks. [I did get it at discount price after all.]

Edit; Image.

Upon actually looking closer at it, Top blank is probably Beatrice, and either
A: Blank on the right is Battler, Blank on the left is symbolic of Shkannon (it is in the servant section, so the left blank has to be related to the servants)
B: Right blank: Battler, left blank, Nanjo's son/Okonogi/Sumadera.
C: There is no left or right blank, whoever made it is for the Amakusa=Battler theory (Captcha: humors this)
