Let's say someone is completely new to drawing art. If one wanted to learn something (Human figures, objects, landscapes...) what would be a good place to start? Also, any website pointers would be great.

Just draw, dude. From life, or just copy photographs or whatever. If you're desperate, You can also check out artists on YouTube like Mark Crilley for tips and some decent tutorials. Sure, it will look like shit at first, but you will improve with time. Sometimes I dig up my old artwork from a few years back for a quick laugh at how horrible it looks.
