Anyone done any?

Me and my friends found out about a local countryside school abandoned in the late 1960's / early 1970's. We found the road near the place and the easy-to-miss-sideroad leading to the actual place.

Here's some of what we found:

The place was wrecked, with some of the ceilings collapsed, few decades of teenagers spraying tags on the walls and shit.... But at least one chalkboard was still up!

And man was that boiler room CREEPY as fuck... I was worried about mould/asbestos in the air, so I didn't spend much time in there.

Attached image is the school in question in its former glory around 1940's or so.

Anyone else into this shit?

>> No.12676   [Delete]   [Edit]

My friend from out of town and I just explored an old industrial area last night. We found a steam and diesel locomotive, some farm equipment and a 1960s motorcycle.

Weird coincidence that this thread would be hear the day after.

I've done a good amount of "urban exploration" I suppose. A more appropriate description would be me looking for good new places to squat + use as drop points or safe houses. Other than places that are still under construction (sometimes near permanently under construction due to miscellaneous reasons) I have not found one exception to this rule.

Abandoned places are creepy. Doesn't matter whether that bitch is in good condition or what, always creepy. Most of us on here are creepy so it's not as if that matters much but I'm just pointing out the obvious truth about exploring places that society has forgotten.

True urban exploration, that is going places in cities you normally couldn't requires two things. Nice clothes and a silver tongue. With those it's much easier to explore the underground tunnels of Dallas along with the doors you aren't supposed to open that comes with that, abandoned meat processing camp of Niles City, roof access to most any skyscraper and often random cool free shit.

Best thing about urban exploration is the really weird shit you find. Train tracks running underneath downtown Dallas are a real weird one. Old buildings usually have a lot of secret passages through them. List of shit to explore: http://www.uer.ca/locations/newlist.asp

Carry a knife.

This is true.

The place was littered from top to bottom with junk(besides the debris), mostly old magazines and shoes.

Yes, shoes. And a few leather boots as well.

Yus, I did a couple recently. Both abandoned factories - result was Great Profit as one had a laboratory I was able to rescue the intact glassware from.
