Drove down to the US to catch a flight with my friend in his car. We were stopped at the border and brought in for questioning (he was questioned, I waited.) When he came out from being questioned, he informed me that the FBI had tipped off the border guards about pedobear and his 9000 anon penises raping lolis and shit like that. Turns out my friend has a pedobear sticker on his back side window and the border guard had spotted it. While we were in the station for questioning, his car was searched, as per their procedure.
An hour or so later, we were freaking out because our flight was in 60 minutes and the airport was a 20 to 30 min drive away. Bombing down the I5 highway, we made it to the airport, went inside, and discovered the flight desk to check-in was CLOSED. After freaking out for 10 minute, another flight desk person from Alaska Air managed to find a staff person for our flight (not Alaska, another airline), and we got our tickets and rushed over to security. At security, we opened up our bags to allow them to scan our laptops separately, and low and behold my laptop is missing - my friend's laptop is present and accounted for. Pretty upset, I know we need to board our flight as it leaves in 10 minutes, so we rushed to the plane and I immediately txted home to see if maybe I had left my laptop at home (which I was 99% sure I hadn't, because I distinctly remember packing it in my backpack that I purchased a week earlier special to hold a laptop!). My home was searched by my family, and the laptop was not there, so my friend and I thought maybe it was moved by the border guards in his car, and in the back seat or something.
Few days later we arrive back, we check his car, the laptop is not there. At this point I was pretty sure my original thought of "the border guards took it, those stealing fuck faces!" was the most likely cause of where my laptop was.
