I actually think it's a little boring. too much grinding for the cooler gear and building shit really isn't that cool in 2d. I can do that with crayons too.

So today I found a copy of the original tetris for GB for only two dollars, in good condition too.
Probably one of the best things to ever come out of Russia aside from Vodka and the Red Army.
That led to me thinking, how many games come from places other than japan and english speaking countries.
Most games these days come from either Japan, America, and I believe there are a few prominent game companies in Canada and the UK.

So, thread on good non-english/japanese games.

Lately i'm craving to play a Bomberman game again.
But having quite some games from that franchise at home, i'm kinda fed up with the standart stuff.

Does anyone know of a bomberman game (PC or Wii) that let's me use custom sprites for each bomber etc?

So, I was watching some episodes of the Spoony Experiment, when I come across of a review of Ultima Underworld 2.
According to Spoony, this game is terrible.
However, It seems that other games from the series are good, amazing even, along with many similar games from the era (80's? late 70's???), problem is, I don't know the first thing about them. I hate to say It, but it is well before my time, could someone fill me in?

There was also another text base game, I think either Critic, Spoony or Linkara reviewed it, and you got a space ship! a fantasy adventure where you get a spaceship! That just looks awesome!
Edit: Yep it was spoony and it was the ultima series, not sure which one though, but that shouldnt be hard to figure out

Somoene has GOT to tell me more about this generation of old school games, because I dont even know what to start with looking up

This game... holy hell this game was amazing.
Best game I've played in a long time, and one of the few that I feel a real emotional attachment to the characters with, and that had a real plot and made me question.
By the end my head was spinning with the implied questions on whether or not everything is real.

Also I cried, poor Otacon (no he doesn't die)

judging by your reaction for this one, i can only guesstimate how badly your head explodes when you finish 3 and 4.

Trust me, the questions only get worse. Konami and Square share the the same problem: the more sequels, the less the plot makes overall sense.

no. those difficulty levels are simply what you casual CoD gamers are used to by now :3

go play some original NES Contra and tell me how MW2 on hardest difficulty compares.

um, im talking about men of war, and mostly just using information i got from a review... i havnt actually tried anything up yet >///<, but from the difficulty of easy, its probably right.

And fuck no, CoD on hard is easy and boring as shit, and how dare you call me a casual CoD gamer!

I've beaten Metroid and Zelda you know, and I play contra on a pretty frequent basis, love that game.

I knew Rockstar was going to do this!
Zombie shit sells en-mass!
And it of been stupid for them not to have it in there as DLC.
I'm glad to see it's going to happen and I hope they tie it in with single player story and maybe give us a new weapon or 2.

I just had the craziest idea for a space RTS a couple months ago, I finally decided to post my idea here.

What if there was a space RTS crossover game with almost EVERY space franchise in existence. Homeworld, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Macross, Gundam, and a whole smattering of other series too. Japan, the US, Europe, from everywhere. The game would play like Homeworld (look it up if you haven't already, it still plays brilliantly 12 years after its original release), and each franchise's factions would have their own strengths and weaknesses. There would be very few limits on what you could do, and everything (including the gameplay) would be in full 3D. I know that this will just be a distant dream because the licensing would be an absolute BITCH, but what do you guys think?

>> No.5918   [Delete]   [Edit]

Oh yes, I should also mention that all the music in the game would be licensed directly from the series. That means, if you wish, that you could have "Infinity" from Macross Frontier playing one moment, followed by "Imperial March" from Star Wars right after that finishes. Especially on voice acting, this would be horribly impractical, but this would still be an awesome dream

>> No.5923   [Delete]   [Edit]

So you want Super Robot Wars with USA franchises too?

>> No.5925   [Delete]   [Edit]

Well, most of the stuff in Super Robot Wars except it's got all the regular space franchises too (so mechs would be competing with regular fighters, there would be frigates and capital ships from the factions depending on what the faction has)

>> No.5931   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>5925
aren't regular army units like tanks, jet fighters and even battleships/carriers habitually obliterated with a twist of a gundam/mech/wanzers wrist? kinda the standard cliché to show how awesome they are...

your game would kinda blow for the one stuck using those worf units...
